May KT

A huge fan of Egyptian folk dance. She started to learn dancing at a young age, and had the opportunity to come across “belly dance” (Raqs Shaqi). Since then, she has fallen in love with this art. She was attracted by the rich culture and history, as well as the intricate movements and music of this dance. She has also grown very fond of the warm and affectionate nature of the Egyptians.

As her knowledge of “belly dance” (Raqs Shaqi) began to deepen, she realized that it is an important and precious artistic and cultural heritage of Egypt, however, has been turned into casual entertainment by Western communities. May’s love for dance turned into a mission. She is dedicated to promoting this rich and life-changing culture. Her encounter with Osama Emam, a master in Egyptian folk dance, was a turning point.
May has been actively involved in dance performances and teaching for more than a decade, and is committed to promoting the authentic Egyptian oriental dance culture and techniques.
